Teresa Gauch

Teresa M. Gauch, nee Schneider, 85, of Belleville, Ill., born July 25, 1931, in Belleville, Ill., passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at St. Paul's Home, Belleville, Ill.

Teresa worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill., mostly in the OB/Nursery area, for 48 years before her retirement. She was very dedicated in her service to new moms and their babies. She also worked at Banner Tire Company as a secretary for 17 years. Mrs. Gauch was a life member of St. Peter's Cathedral, and belonged to the Perpetual Help Sodality and the Cathedral Quilters at the church. She was also a member of the Catholic Fraternal Life organization. After she retired, she spent several years working as a lunch lady at Cathedral Grade School.

She was a past Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 53, Belleville, Ill. Teresa also served as an officer of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 937, Smithton, Ill. In her retirement years, she enjoyed card parties, quilting, and her many friends at PSOP.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Clara B., nee Quirin, Schneider; a sister, Florence Keiner; two brothers-in-law, Carl Keiner and Dallas Richter; and a nephew, Eric J. Keiner.

Surviving are her sister, Agnes E. Richter of Belleville, Ill.; a niece and God-daughter, Lynn (Steve) Keiner Glauber of Belleville, Ill.; a great-niece, Lara (Kaitlin) Glauber; great-niece and God-daughter, Leah (Josh) Spehn; and a great-nephew, Daniel Glauber.

The family is grateful for the care Teresa received from the kind staff of St. Paul's Home and Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Cathedral, to the Belleville Area Humane Society or to the charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at St. Peter's Cathedral. The Smithton American Legion Auxiliary ritual will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday and the Women of the Moose Chapter 53 ritual will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Msgr. John Myler officiating. Burial will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
