Matt W. Stilwill

Matt Stilwill, age 56, passed away on May 16, 2014. He was born on May 10, 1958 in Klamath Falls, OR. He graduated from Hermiston High School and attended Linn Benton Community College on a baseball scholarship and was eventually drafted by the Chicago Cubs. In 1979 Matt married his high school sweet heart, Denise Kaminga and had two children. In the late1990's they moved from Milton, WA and settled in Lynden. Matt's hobbies included fishing with his kids, cooking for anyone who would eat, spending time on Stuart Island at the family cabin, and playing or watching baseball. Matt made friends with everyone he met. They all loved him for his huge heart, compassion and generosity. He was preceded in death by his mother Bernadine "Bunny" Stilwill and sister Susan Stilwill. He is survived by his children Courtney Morado (Stilwill) and Tyler Stilwill, grandchild Gabriel Morado, father Al Stilwill, brother Pat Stilwill, Denise Stilwill and many loving family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Friday May 23 at 1PM at the Squalicum Boat House with a reception following. Please bring your favorite "Matt Story."
