Charles A. "Chuck" Reynolds, age 88, passed away on Friday March 1, 2013. He was born in Bellingham on August 28, 1924 to Bernard and Mary (Gallagher) Reynolds. Charles married Maxine Madsen in 1961. Charles grew up during the depression which helped to shape his life. He served his country in the Navy during WWII
. Charles was an athlete and played golf and tennis. He also coached for his son's basketball team, and enjoyed fishing & hunting. Charles was a carpenter by profession and had a passion for wood carving, including collecting antique tools and cutting boards for his wife's paintings. Charles was very proud to be of Irish descent. He had a huge heart. On his walks, he would bring biscuits for the dogs and candy for the children that he encountered along the way. Charles loved his family dearly, and was a favorite uncle among his nieces & nephews He was preceded in death by his brothers Bernie and Mick; and sisters Esther and Mary. Charles is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maxine; son Sean (Paris) Reynolds; grandson Brady Reynolds, age 8; sister Alice White; brothers Joe, Jack and Frank; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 8th 10:00 AM at Moles Greenacres, 5700 Northwest Dr. in Ferndale. Memorial donations may be made to Salvation Army, Goodwill, Humane Society or Whatcom Hospice.
