Furman Buckner Obituary

Mable Irene Buckner Furman Mills, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2016. Born in Blaine, WA in 1922 to Robert Andrew and Nettie Mae Buckner (Boswell), she graduated from Blaine HS and worked for some time as an elevator operator at the Leopold Hotel before marrying Fay Walter Furman. They lived in N. Bellingham raising 3 sons-Art, Dale and Fred. Following Fay's death, she married Russ Mills and moved to Vancouver, BC, most recently living in New Westminster, BC. Mable fiercely loved her family unconditionally, always welcoming in their friends. She was the mother to many. Her laughter and sweet giggle will be truly missed. Over the years, she had hundreds of pen pals, pampered and loved her many dogs and spent hours reading her favorite mystery books. She was a contented and happy woman until the end. Mable was predeceased by her parents, her husbands-Fay & Russ, her sons-Ernie & Fred and stepdaughter Barbara Furman Glenn. She is survived by her sons Art (Carla) of Custer, WA and Dale (Janice) of Stanwood, WA, special friend and caregiver Diana of New Westminster, BC, stepdaughter Peggy Furman Joy of Everson, WA, stepson Ken Mills of Vancouver, BC, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A private memorial will take place and her final resting place will be at the Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale, WA.
