Ted Borland, 84 of Bellingham Washington passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7 2012. Born in Seattle to Fred and Alice Borland, Ted is survived by his loving wife Lin, eight children, thirteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Ted was a hard working, industrious leader driven for success. He was adept at building houses or working on cars, but he made his biggest mark in the Baking industry. Starting as a truck driver at Van De Kamps bakery in Seattle Ted eventually worked his way into manufacturing operations. Ted continued to rise through the ranks of baking industry leaders first running plant operations but eventually being promoted to Vice President of Manufacturing at Au Bon Pain in Boston where he set up plant operations internationally in Chile, Indonesia, The Philippines, and Thailand.Ted loved spending time with his family in the outdoors going boating, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed taking his wife Lin on cruises to Alaska.
Ted was very proud of the years he coached Little League football in which he instilled a sense of hard work and a passion for winning into his players. It's the same way he touched people throughout his life.
He will be missed very much by his family and friends as a loving and supportive father and husband.
