Louis "Luke" Feller

Louis "Luke" Feller passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at the age of 94 years. He was born Sept. 10, 1916 in Granum, Alberta, Canada to William and Elizabeth (Bouwer) Feller. As a youngster, he moved with his family to Grangeville, Idaho and then to Whatcom County at the age of 8. On Nov. 16, 1939 he was married to Dena Vander Woude and she preceded him in death Jan. 15, 2001. Luke owned and operated Feller Construction; building custom homes in Whatcom County for over 50 years. In his community he was actively involved with the Puget Sound Antique Tractor and Machinery Assoc . and was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. Luke married his second wife, Willie Cramer on March 1, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Willie; children Carolyn (Gary) Parish of Burien, Wilford (Donna) Feller of Lynden, Elvin (Anna Lee) Feller of Everson; five grandchildren, Barbara (Mike), Leslie (Jim), Mark, Clint (Jamie) and Brent (Marlo); ten great-grandchildren; step-children Joe (Kathy) Cramer, Coralie (Ken) DeJong, Dan (Kathy) Cramer, Tom (Kim) Cramer and their families; and sister-in-law, Cora Vander Woude. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dena; brothers, Bill (Clara) DeHaas and Dan (Helen) Feller and sister Jenny (Gerrit) Vrieling. Visitation Tuesday, Feb. 22, 4 to 7 pm at Gillies Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted Wed., Feb. 23, 1:00pm at Monumenta Cemetery followed by a 2 pm memorial service at First Christian Reformed Church , 1010 Front St., Lynden.
