Dear Susan,Dale,Daniel and Christel, Mike and Wendy and family,

We are sorry with you for your loss of your Mom and Grandma.

She was such a good example of a woman who kept her mind sharp.

She graciously welcomed our family to visit overnight along with the Fredriksons in the Sumas house on our way to Expo '86 in Vancouver,BC. She was a wonderful host to us.

Dear Wendy, Henry Jack and Owen, We are thinking of you and sending our love, as we always do, but in a more intentional and gentle way as we know what it is to experience the death of a parent and grandma. Take care of each other, tell Miss Helen's stories, laugh, cry, sing, sing, sing her on to the next place. Amen

Dearest Wendy,
I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine losing my mother, but I assume, at no matter what age, the emotional impact is great. Please know that I am thinking of you all and hope that you find peace in eachother. By the way, your mother was the best Scrabble player I have ever witnessed.

Wen and family,

We are thinking of you and sending love.
I know you are full of wonderful memories of your mama. Turning the memories into stories keeps her close. I'm so glad we were able to witness Helen's spunk.

Wendy, Susan and Mike,
My prayers and thoughts are with you all. It is always hard to lose a mom, even tho we know that she is at peace in a better place. She was a beautiful woman with a lot of grace. Lots of memories of you kids growing up in Sumas. May she rest in peace and God bless each of you.
My love, Ethel Gobbato

My condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Lade. She was my first grade teacher (1955) and was outstanding. I only had to wear the dunce cap once. I didn't learn to stay out of trouble, but do remember that it felt really bad to disappoint her. If we all endeavor to be more like her, this world will be a much better place.

To the family of Mrs. Lade: Mrs. Lade was my first grade teacher at Lynden, way back in 1955. She was everyone's favorite teacher, the one every new student wanted to get. She introduced me to the magic of reading which, ultimately, led to my career as a public librarian. And every year at Thanksgiving at our house I would pay tribute to Mrs. Lade by saying that the cranberry sauce I made was from her own recipe, and though that was not really true, the affection I shared with my family for Mrs. Lade was genuine and very true.
