The Whatcom Democrats will miss Jean, and we are glad that we had a chance to recognize her dedication and hard work before she was gone. At a ceremony in August 2010, Jean was recognized as an Honored Democrat, with Gov. Mike Lowry presenting the award

Jean was my neighbor on the West side of our home for 22 yrs, and in my oppinion, one of the best neighbors I have ever had, (no disrespect to any of my other neighbors intended). She was an amazing teacher, who taught many children with learning disabilities even after she retired. She even helped to educate my own children + myself before I started takeing college classes. I always laugh when I remember the timed test's she would give me for math.
I was always amazed at the things she could do, and loved her wonderful stories she told me. My family will miss her so much, especially when we look out at the yard next door. Our prayers go out to the family for their loss, and want you to know that we loved her dearly.
