Sherri Angie Obituary

Sherri Ann Angie passed away February 5, 2011 at home from complications of diabetes and heart disease. She was born in Bellevue, WA on December 31, 1956. She has lived in Bellingham for 24 years. Sherri worked for the Lexington, KY, school district as well as the Bellingham School District for several years as a special education teacher, until health problems prevented her from continuing. Sherri's warm heart has been a guiding light for friends and family. Since being disabled, she has spent her time expressing her beautiful soul in graphic arts. It was her wish and gift to share her talent with all. Her openness in art created a wonderful family of people interested in artistic expression. Sherri open-ed her heart and home to friends who became family; always sharing love with those she met. With the help of friends and the guiding spirit of her deceased husband Richard, Sherri and partners opened The Sparrow's Nest Art Studio. In death, Sherri joins her love and soul mate, Richard Estes. She leaves behind her loving son Alex and step children Emily and Dana; mother Jackie; sisters Jodee and Barbara; brothers-in-law Richard and Don; nephews Anthony and Christopher; niece Kamee; and her adopted family Joe, Karen, and their daughter Sidney. Memorials may be made to the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation or the Whatcom Humane Society. A Celebration of Sherri's Life will be held at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal on Sunday, February 27th at 2 PM. I am amazed to read the entries about Sherri. I was a friend of hers in junior high and high school. I hadn't seen her for over 30 years and am so happy to hear that the person I knew was sustained over her life. She was bright, shining, filled with grace, positive, inspiring. Indeed she never, ever complained. The world will miss you Sherri. Thank you for being a part of me and my life.

Sherri always strived to live life with grace. She succeeded in doing just that. I never saw her as "disabled" because she always had such positive attitude and gusto for life. She suffered greatly in this world, yet I never heard her complain. There isn't enough room to express how she touched my life and so many others. One of her greatest gifts was to give each of us the freedom to explore different forms of art. Art Journaling was one of her passions. Sherri did like her bling which exemplified her flamboyant personality. She gave as close to unconditional love as a human can towards each person she met. Thank you my beautiful Sherri for touching my life. You are forever in my heart. Do you have any idea of how much you are loved?

I will miss you always my sweet Sharri. You leave a hole in my heart that cannot be filled. I will treasure the memories of the times we have shared. The "Belllingham Five" can never be the same. Give Richard a hug for me. I will look to the skies and see you twinkling from your tiara and glitter. Good bye for now. Save me a spot. Janelle

While I didn't know Sherri personally, I know several people who did. She sounds like a wonderful person, and I know she is already and will continue to be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to Sherri's family and friends.
