Beatrice M. Lane Willis 10/19/1927 09/30/2016 October 19, 1927 (Waite Park, MN) - September 30, 2016 (Bellingham, WA). Bea Lane Willis was one of 9 children born to George and Ida Lane. Her American born parents homesteaded near Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada, and raised their family there. In 1950, Bea relocated to California and lived with a maternal uncle. She worked for many years at Southern California Edison and later at Santa Barbara City College. In 1967 she married Jim Willis, and they lived and worked in Santa Barbara until retirement. They then settled in Port Angeles, Washington, in a lovely "gingerbread house" on the corner. Over the years they enjoyed countless memorable visits back and forth with family in Canada and the United States. They also got to know many friends and neighbors in the area. Bea played the organ keyboard, and devoted many hours playing old favorites for residents of local seniors' homes. Following Jim's death Bea moved to Bellingham, Washington, where she spent her final years. Bea was loved by family and friends alike for her sense of humour; grit and determination; and general love of life. She is survived by her sisters Mary (Morris) and Pat, and her brother Jim (Marty), as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Thank you "NtB" for being with us for almost 89 years. We know that you are with your beloved Jim now. The family would like to thank the neighbors, first responders and medical personnel who cared for Bea.
