Billie Dustin Obituary

Billie Jeanette (Jean) Dustin, age 75, of Bellingham WA passed away on March 29, 2011. She died surrounded by her son, her good friend Carl, and the loving and caring staff of the Whatcom Hospice of Bellingham. Jean was born on January 24, 1936 in Lincoln, Nebraska to James J. Neville and Agnes Neville (Nehe). She is survived by her children Denise Larkin and Drew Dustin; her grandchildren Heather and Nicholas Scholten; her great granddaughter Roxxi Rose Snow; and her sisters Barbara Peterson, Lynn Berg and Jackie Vontz. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ross Dustin. Jean worked at W. T. Grant and Company, was an elementary school teacher, a mother and homemaker, and a volunteer at The American Museum of Radio and Electricity. "If anyone asks how I want to be remembered, please say the following about me": "Great smile, persistent survivor, tried her best with all the knowledge she was aware of. The philosophy of simplicity in her life kept her focused on people rather than things. She believed there's more than just this time. It won't end here." "To me life is a condition of cognitive and visual appreciation. When I no longer enjoy friends and family, crosswords, politics, humor, vanilla, cinnamon, blueberry smoothies, tastes and smells of good food, smiles, bright colors, cozy teddy bears, hugs, kisses, or good literature…. I no longer consider this "shell" of organs "to be alive!" I no longer wish to "exist". In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whatcom Hospice of Bellingham. Jean's memorial will be held at the place she loved to teach and volunteer - The American Museum of Radio and Electricity. The date and time of the memorial have not been determined at this time. Jean will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched along the way. You may share your thoughts and memories of Jean in the online memorial guest book at www.molesfuneralhomes.com Moles Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Bayview Chapel, Bellingham
