Bobby Ray Bishop, age 62 passed away in the late morning on September 13, 2016. Bob was born at 12:50 am on July 18 1954 at Saint Joseph's Hospital and is the younger son of John and Eva Bishop and grew up as one of the Madrona Street kids in Bellingham. He played cello in the Bellingham High School Orchestra and graduated from there in 1972. He also enjoyed skiing, Harley-Davidson's and hunting. He was a really good marksman and won awards for shooting while serving as an M.P. in Germany during the early 1970s. He sometimes told a story about how he and his buddies accidentally drove into East Germany while out partying. Bob took up welding at Bellingham Technical School and worked at various jobs mostly with the shipyards, Uniflite and Aluminum Chambered Boats. Bob was always willing to help anyone who asked, and he had a cheerful attitude most of the time even when things were really bad. Like devoting a huge part of his life to taking care of his son Jonathan during all of his medical complexities. He even stayed in good spirit and never stopped trying the last two years, knowing that the mouth cancer was progressing. He is survived by his son Jonathan and older brother Ed with cousins Noelle, Tom, LaVoun and Mike then Roger, Jerri and Rene'. And of course he will be missed very much by all who knew him. Funeral arrangements are pending.
