Bruce Zimmerman

Bruce Zimmerman chose to join up with the Great Spirit in late January, 2011. Bruce was a friendly and outspoken person. Born in Independence, Kansas in 1953, Bruce was a lifelong resident of Blaine. He left behind many friends and acquaintances from his life's journey, among them fellow pipefitters and union workers, the Masons, local fishermen and businessmen, the Irish, the Polish, the Lummi and the Canadians, the Mormons, the Jewish, the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Catholics and many Borderites. Bruce was a self-educated student of history and politics, global currencies, real estate and religion and loved to share his worldly views. Bruce was a dedicated employee working 30 years in oil refining and union construction. Bruce found great pleasure in world travel with most recent trips to Poland and the Dominican Republic. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Elizabeth Zimmerman; brothers Richard and Rodger and sister, Joan. He is survived by brothers Jerry (Donna) Zimmerman, Albuquerque, NM and Lloyd (Molly) Zimmerman, Ferndale, WA; niece Jennifer Vincent, Tampa, FL and nephew Maxwell Zimmerman, Ferndale, WA. A gathering in remembrance will be held Saturday, March 26, at 3 p.m. at the Semiahmoo Cannery Museum. Mem-orials may be madeto the Ferndale Double Dome Community Swimming Pool Project through the Whatcom Educational Credit Union.
