Carol Christensen Obituary

Carol Lynn Christensen, of Sumas, Washington, passed away on February 14, 2011, at the age of 61, and went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a strong, determined, and caring lady, who loved gardening, reading and doting on her granddaughter Willow. Carol was born on November 18, 1949 to K.P. and Dorothea Anthony. She grew up in Long Beach, CA and in 1976 met and married Alan Christensen. They moved to the Lynden/Blaine area in 1978 and were blessed with two wonderful children, Kellie Ann Christensen and Ryan James Christensen. In 2005, Carol moved to Sumas, WA and met a world of new friends, including neighbors, Della Janzen and Greta Syme. She always wondered why the Lord would take her to a place where she knew no one, but she soon found out why. Her parents, K.P. and Dorothea, preceded her in death, along with her best friend of 43 years, Linda Rasmussen. Carol will be greatly missed by her children, her brother, Art and his wife Sandy Anthony, and her most precious granddaughter, Willow Isabella. Rest peacefully, mom! You are always in our hearts. At Carol's request, no funeral services are planned. There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Sumas Senior Center, 451 2nd Street, Sumas, from 2:00 PM to 4 PM.
