Dan or Danny went to be with his Lord and Savior Jan. 13th, 2013. Thanks to the staff and nurses at St. Francis for all his care and love where he resided for the last few years. He was born in Point Roberts on Mar. 31st, 1915 to William and Lelia May Taylor and was raised there and in Bellingham. He served in the US Army from 1942-1945. He never married. His true love was always the Salvation Army. He signed up to be a soldier in 1951 but helped set kettles in 1949. He got involved with the Salvation Army then and liked it and kept on going. Danny charmed many shoppers at Christmas time ringing the bell at the Bon Marche and Macy's. He also spent his time delivering the War Cry throughout Whatcom County for the Salvation Army. He is survived by his brother Tom of Bellingham and many nieces and nephews. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters. A visitation will be held Thursday Jan. 17th from noon to 4 p.m. at Jerns Funeral Chapel, 800 E Sunset Dr. Bellingham, WA 98225.
