Darrell Cooke Obituary

Darrell E. Cooke returned to Heaven on Friday, March 25, 2011, in Bellingham. Given four miraculous years by God and medical professionals, Darrell took every opportunity to reach out, embrace, plant seeds of faith and to share his heavenly experience. Born on March 19, 1941, in Oregon City, Ore., to Cecil and Frances Cooke, Darrell is today rejoicing with his mother and father; brother (Leonard); mother- and father-in-law Gladys and Richard Cook; and many beloved friends. A Lynden resident for the past 23 years, Darrell touched the lives of so many through his business The Mail Box and his active involvement in North County Christ the King Church and outreach. He leaves (until their reunion in Heaven) his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Bev Cooke; sons Wes of Montana, Shawn of Hawaii and Len and Chris of Lynden; daughters Linda Marzano of Gig Harbor and Kim Leigh of the British Virgin Islands; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial to celebrate his extraordinary life will be on Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at North County Christ the King Church, Lynden.

A man not ashamed to confess his love for his creator. I hope that I can leave a lasting impression on those I come in contact with just like Darrell.

I love this guy and his Bev!! He always had at LEAST one joke for me when I would go to mail pkgs. Darrell was ALWAYS one of the most precious men of God I knew. His life was to demonstrate Jesus to folks and he FINISHED WELL!! What more could a Christian want??? See you soon brother. God, be with Bev in the sweetest, most loving Ways You have. Hold her close and walk her through everything to come.
