Everson resident, Darrell Knutzen, age 75, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital on Monday, May 9, 2016. He was born February 1, 1941 in Sumas, WA to Earl and Alice (Adams) Knutzen. Darrell graduated from Lynden High School. He bought a dairy farm on the Pole Rd. where he farmed until 1972. After selling his farm, he decided to become a logger. Darrell owned D & D Logging and logged for the next 34 years until an accident ended his career in 2006. After logging, he drove for Yellow Cab. Darrell looked forward to cooking Salmon for the Deming Log Show every year and watching the Mariners. He is preceded in death by his sisters Virginia Stewart and Linda Knutzen. Darrell is survived by son Bill (Sandy) Knutzen; daughters Roxanne (Wayne) Hancock and Daleen (Rich) Weidkamp; ex-wife Carolyn Rustand; stepchildren Norm (Pam) Stacey, Don (Kristen) Stacey, Doug Stacey, and Dick Stacey; ex-wife Dolores Knutzen; brother Fred (Laura) Knutzen and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Deming Logging Shows Busted Up Loggers Fund, PO Box 837, Deming, WA in Darrell's honor.
