David Edward Curtis was born on June 27, 1928 in Fellows, California. Two years later, the family moved to Washington state, where Dave grew up and attended the University of Washington. He took a degree in Electrical Engineering which led to a career that took him and his family to southern California, where they lived for 50 years, returning to Bellingham in 2004. Dave served in the Navy and enjoyed his sailboat, was a scuba diver in the early days of that sport and served as a member of the Sheriff's Underwater Recovery Group. Dave is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beverly, their two children and spouses; Daniel (Won) Curtis and Jane (Randy) Rush: four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his two sisters; Marjorie Worthington and Beverly Johanson. An extended family gathering in June will be a celebration of Dave's life.
