Evelyn Hatch passed away peacefully November 23, 2015 in Bothell, Washington in the company of family members. Evelyn was born Evelyn Doris Peterson on February 5, 1921 on her grandmother's farm in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Her family moved to Washington in 1937. She graduated from Western Washington College of Education (now WWU) in 1943 and was married that same year to William T. Hatch. after the War, the couple lived in various places in Washington as they advanced their teaching careers, finally settling in Bellingham in 1962 where they lived for over 40 years. Evelyn worked for many years for the Bellingham School District, initially as an elementary school teacher and ultimately as curriculum coordinator for the district's elementary schools. She was a gracious, loving and energetic person, managing somehow to be a full-time wife, a full-time mother to her three sons, full-time school district employee and full-time friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, and her sister, Margaret Lee. She is survived by her sister, Lillian Baur, her three sons, Jonathan (Wendy), Todd (Jean) and Scott (Martha), and by her eleven Grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on February 6, 2015 at Moles Funeral Home in Bellingham.
