Evelyn Mae Harris

Evelyn Mae (Ulmer) Harris peacefully passed into the arms of her dear Lord Jesus on Friday, April 29, at Whatcom Hospice House. Born September 19, 1932 in Edmonton, Alberta she moved to British Columbia with her family as a young child. She married her husband, Edward Harris Jr., July 3, 1964. He was stationed in Spain, where they lived during the late 1960's. Edward passed away in 1978. Evelyn moved to Bellingham in 1980 where she became a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in worship and served in many capacities. She was employed as a bookkeeper, and did tax preparation services before she retired. Traveling, reading and cooking were some of her passions. She was also an excellent knitter/crocheter, having made many afghans for the Bellingham community. Family members preceding her in death are brother Marvin, and parents Jacob and Emilie Ulmer. She is survived by her sister Sandra Ratcliffe of West Kelowna BC. Evelyn was a gracious and loving soul with a great sense of humor. She will be missed by her family, her friends and her fellow members at Trinity Lutheran Church. A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 119 Texas St, Bellingham.
