Frances Johansen Obituary

Frances Monita Johansen, 90, was the only child of Beatrice B (Quackenbush) Johansen and John Christian Johansen. Monita was born July 29, 1920 and raised in the York neighborhood of Bellingham. She was active in Eastern Star, enjoyed cats and gardening. After a few years of college she worked for DSHS in Kelso. After returning to Bellingham, she volunteered at the Red Cross and Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Monita spent many of her final years living in the same house where she was raised. She lived her final 5 years at Lakeside Gardens in Lynden, and passed peacefully in their loving care March 19, 2011. Monita had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious smile, and a wonderful laugh and will be missed by those who knew her. Memorials may be made to the Red Cross and Bellingham Food Bank. A private service will be held. You may share your thoughts and memories of Monita in the online memorial guest book at www.molesfuneralhomes.com Moles Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Bayview Chapel
