Fred was one of the first people we met when we moved to Lynden in 1997, and our daughters adopted him and Mary into our family, calling them Grandpa Fred and Grandma Mary. Fred dutifully came to their piano recitals, Grandparent's Day at pre-school and birthday parties. We loved watching Fred laugh because he'd keep going until the tears came out of his twinkling eyes, bringing joy with them. We knew him to be a gentle man, with a kind heart...a man of deep faith in God. We admired the love between Fred and Mary and how it spilled over into the lives of their children. We don't know how many times he told us the story of his 90th Birthday Celebration with the Mariners. He enjoyed that day so very much! He was so proud of his family. It brings us joy to imagine Fred and Mary together again. David and Judy, thank you for sharing your Dad and Mom with us. Our Prayers are with you now.
