Gary Simmons Obituary

Gary Allen Simmons passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011. He was 70, born June 30, 1940 in Bellingham to William and Muriel (Riffe) Simmons. Gary retired from Intalco after working 32 years. He was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and riding his motorcycle. He was very generous with his time, and was always willing to help others with their needs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald. Gary is survived by his wife Carol, whom he married in 1967; children, Rodney (Rita) Forslof, Brian Simmons, Cindi Torres Baez, Jeremy (Mindy) Simmons, Tina Simmons, Sherilee Simmons; siblings, Donald, James, and Patricia; 15 grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be Friday, February 4, from noon to 1:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Northwest Chapel, 5800 Northwest Road in Ferndale. Memorials may be made to Whatcom County Republican Party, or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund.
