Harry "Duff" Sutherland

Duff Sutherland, age 83, passed away March 19, 2011, in Seattle, Washington, due to complications of cancer. He was born March 5, 1928, in Bellingham, Washington, to Dr. Harry George and Mildred Claire (Dufraine) Sutherland. He is survived by his wife Ann Sutherland of Newcastle, WA, his sister Patricia Carver (Gene) of Palos Verdes, California, children, Tim Sutherland of Acme, Peter Sutherland (Kim) and Lisa Sutherland Hamstreet of Bellingham, Trish Sutherland Thomas ( Mark) of Whitehall, Michigan, and Wendy Sutherland Nachtsheim (Chris ) of Bonney Lake, and his step children Lori Claffey and Stefanie Johnson of North Bend. He leaves 15 grandchildren and three great-grand children. He is predeceased by his infant son, Steven Allen Sutherland in 1953. His family and a great many people will sorely miss him. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on April 16th at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Bellingham. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Pauls Endowment Fund.
