Helen Bame Obituary

Helen Bame passed away in Bellingham on Saturday, February 12, 2011. She was 91, born November 15, 1919 in Bellingham to Dean and Marie (Gerjet) King. Helen graduated from Lynden High School. She married Clarence Bame in 1937. They enjoyed traveling around the world. He preceded her in death in 2006. Helen was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Lynden. She cooked at Lee's Drive-in, and baked pies at the Fairway Café. She loved cooking for company and entertaining her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Carmi and Truman King. Helen is survived by her children, Donna Kuiken, Dean (Judy) Bame, Diane (Ronald) Wilson; sister Hope Starkenberg; grandchildren, Jenny Garfield, Lisa Young, Tony Wilson; 4 great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice or the Salvation Army. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 18, at 2 PM, at Moles Greenacres Funeral Home.
