Irving Eugene Park Sr. 03/18/1925 - 03/27/2015 Irving, "Gene", Dad but the name he loved being called the most was Papa! He was born on a blustery day on March 18th 1925 in his childhood home on North St. to Lee Adam and Helen Christine Park. Gene joined the U.S. Navy after he graduated from Bellingham High School in 1943. He found the love of his life Patricia Sue (Badgley) living right next door to his home on North St. After returning from his Naval duties on the Marshall Island in the South Pacific Gene and Pat started their family in Bellingham. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, three children, Pamela, Deborah and Gene Jr. three Grandson's, three Granddaughters and two Great Granddaughters. Gene was well known in the Lynden, Everson, Sumas areas as he coordinated the rail freight for the Milwaukee Railroad helping the small communities grow their business. He retried from the Burlington Northern Railroad after 30 plus years of loyal service. Gene and Pat spent many of their later days in sunny Southern California but always returning to Bellingham to be with their growing family. So Papa and Dad even though it has been a hard long year without you, your loving memories help us get through everyday. We thought of you today, But that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday And the days before too. We think about you in silence, We often speak your name. All we have are memories and Your picture in a frame. Your picture is our keepsake From which we'll never part. God has you in His arms We have you in our hearts. Happy Birthday Papa, we love and miss you!
