Jean Hershey, age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 13th, in Bellingham, WA. Jean was born on January 29, 1922 in Bellingham to Harry and Carrie Kolb. She married Eugene Hershey on January 21, 1944 while Eugene was serving in the U.S. Navy. Jean loved gardening, playing cards, camping, and watching the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. Her favorite flowers were pink roses. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 1998. She is survived by her children Alan (Linda) Hershey, Gary (Sheryl) Hershey, David (Fawn) Hershey, and former daughter-in-law Kit Hershey; her sister Dorothy Thomson of Anacortes; eight grand-children; ten great-grand-children; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks go to Joe and Suzanne Shrock, who run Birchwood Adult Family Home, where Jean lived for the last ten years of her life. She loved the Shrocks and all of the people who helped care for her while she was a resident there. A graveside service will be held at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham on Wednesday, July 20 at 2PM, followed by a reception at Moles Farewell Tributes (2465 Lakeway).
