Jeanette Fenton Obituary

Jan, born March 11, 1944, passed away peacefully at her home in Puyallup, WA, on January 28, 2011 after a brief illness. She was 66 years old. Preceded in death by her parents, Eric Russon (England) and Irene Ferguson (Canada). She is survived by Donald Fenton, her brother Bradley Ferguson and her children; Karen Drewry, Donnie Rubenack Jr., and Sean Fenton; Step-children, Don Fenton Jr., Teresa Lanzet, Dean Fenton, and their spouses, 16 grandchildren and one soon-to-be great-grandchild, as well as her devoted little dog, Tommy. She leaves many dearly loved and very close friends, especially Carol and Peter Rogier, Reva Del Boyer and Linda Loftis. Jan was a fun, kind, loving and compassionate person with a good sense of humor and a warm heart. She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, spending the past 15+ years as a child advocate through her business, Jan's Supervised Visitations. She will be missed by family, friends, business associates and those in the community whom she gently touched by her grace and humility. A celebration of Jan's life will be held at 11:00 am, Sat., Feb. 12, 2011 at Bethany Baptist Church, Puyallup, WA. During the last year, Jan appreciated the care and support she received from her team at the Dialysis Center. Our Jan, Mom, Grandma, Nana, and BEST friend has given us memories to cherish, a life to remember.

Jeanette was one of my best friends. I rented from her a cottage while pregnant with my first child, Zeb, who is in his 50's age-wise now! Miss her presence so much!

My family and I have been thinking about Jan on and off for the last few years, but I didn't think to look her up online until now. We are deeply saddened to hear that she has passed away because she made a big impression in our lives. I'm very proud to have known her and enjoyed her company while she was here. We miss you Jan!

Don; I was walking to Wright's Park yesterday, 8/8/13 with my Grandson, Elijah who is 9 Y/O now and saw the office building Jan worked at near 6th ave in Tacoma's Stadium district. I looked up at the names on the building denoting who was employed there, by happenchance. There were 2 lawyers' names and then Jan's name as a family advocate. I broke down crying because it was so unexpected. I miss her so much. She took me to the hospital when I was in labor with ZEB(Elijah's father) in 1971 and has been my girly-girl since(until her death). There I was with Elijah(Zeb's son) when I saw her name still on the building's placard; difficult. I loved her with all my heart and I hope every one of her family is at peace. Love, Nancy Garrison-Flateland

Grandma Jan, Nana, Very good friend. You touched all of our hearts. We will remember all our good trips together. One of your favorites fishing on the John Day with all of Karen's family.
