Our very beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Jerome W. Kelly (Jerry) passed away peacefully in our arms on September 10th, 2016. His long, courageous struggle with cancer was finally over. Jerry had a successful career in the insurance business in which he worked since graduating from college until retirement. He and his wife Clara settled in Maine, where he pursued an avid hobby of wood carving while serving with the local volunteer fire department and being active in the community. Jerry and Clara eventually moved to Bellingham to be closer to their grand children, and immersed themselves into the local community. Jerry was always quick with a joke and warm and generous. He became known locally as "the candy man" as he always had a treat ready for anyone and everyone he encountered. Growing up, his children always felt secure and loved. The cupboards full, in a warm home, all of their trials met with grace and compassion, and always his wonderful sense of humor. His mission and legacy was always family. He raised four children and was extremely proud of his eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Thank you, Jerry. We love you and miss you.
