On January 21, 2013, our beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, soul mate and most important-Daddy, John A. Carpenter followed the guidance of his grandmother Jan Thibodeau crossing over to our forever home. John was born November 28, 1979 in Landstühl, West Germany to Judy and Steven Carpenter while Steve was in the U.S. Army. He was just 3 months old when he touched American soil. He was a deep thinker and slow walker, exactly like his grandfather for whom he was named-John Thibodeau. We always teased him that his definition of "hurry" meant "just take longer steps". John loved fishing at Lake Padden, often with his son Griffen. They always threw back everything except two that they relished fried in butter. John was passionate about the Seahawks. On game days he wore his "hawks" shirt, jacket, even slippers. Joined by his tiny daughter, Laura, dressed in her Seahawks cheerleader dress, they cheered and roared at each play. John and Tera, his soul mate, had many close, wonderful friends that gave all their love through thick and thin. John will be missed by a large family. His mother Judy Carpenter of Bellingham; father Steve Carpenter of Sedro Woolley; grandfather John aka Jack Thibodeau of Bellingham; brother Christopher Carpenter of Wauseon, OH; aunts, Jill Davis and Joyce Casella. In his home John is missed by his soul mate Tera Musso; sons, Kaleb and Griffin; and daughter Laura-the jewel in his heart. "We will be with you again John as we each move to our forever home in God's house. Until we get there, keep your grandmother busy and teach her how to play cards *wink*. We love you so much!" Please join us Tuesday, January 29, at 2:00 PM for a memorial service with a coffee hour to follow, at Moles Farewell Tributes-Bellingham. In John's memory we invite you to wear your Seahawks clothes. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. You may share memories at www.farewelltributes.com
