John Creed Obituary

John Naylor Creed, born January 23, 1928, in Buffalo, New York, passed away January 13, 2011 at the age of 82. In 1947, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Philippines. After his military service, John graduated from the University of Rochester (NY) with a degree in Chemistry. While in college he excelled in track and held the record in '220 low hurdles' for a number of years. He worked in the photography industry, and in the 1970's moved to California where he owned photography studios and later a custom frame shop. John always preferred working independently. Work brought him to the Pacific Northwest, where he met his wife, Faye. In 1981, John and Faye were married in Seattle. Together they purchased P&W Frames in Bellingham, renaming it "Art & Frames, Inc.", which they rebuilt into a thriving custom picture frame and art shop and operated for 20 years. John was a man of many interests, including history, art, music, gardening and language, to name a few. He also collected tools passionately. He was a lifetime member of Professional Photographers of Washington, and belonged to Bellingham Central Lion's Club for many years. John is survived by his wife, Faye; son, Erik Senuty (Ione Adams) & granddaughter, Abby Senuty; son, Paul Senuty, Martha Hehner; Faye's brother, Don (Janet) Rubenack, & their children, Karen, Donnie, Marjorie, Raymond & their families; Cousins, Peter & Betty Creed (Florida), and Margaret Bradshaw (UK). At his request, there will be no formal services. A family memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Bellingham Central Lions Club, PO Box 602, Bellingham, WA 98229; or to Whatcom Hospice, 800 E. Chestnut St., #1C, Bellingham, WA 98225.
