John Ralston Spry

John Spry Obituary

John Ralston Spry, of Everson, Washington, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011. He was 78 years old. Doc was a family man with solid morals. His handshake was his bond. He had a great sense of humor, got along with any and everyone he met, and loved kids, his community, and of course animals. He was one heck of a cow guy and served as a vet for 32 years in Lynden and Everson. He never turned anyone away regardless of finances, and half the strays in Everson ended up in his home. Doc and his family were proud of his service as a United States Marine and a Korean War Veteran, his lifetime membership in the Lynden Masonic Lodge #56, and his many active years in the Northwest Demo Association. Doc is preceded in death by his son, Lee Spry, granddaughter, Salina Spry, and great-granddaughter, Audrey Lange. He will be greatly missed by his children, David Spry, Bernice (Bill) Lange, Mark (Trisha) Spry, Matthew Spry, Norman (Delina) Spry, Jeremiah Spry, Nicole Spry, and Shannon (Doug) Scholten; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his brother, Phillip (Pat) Spry; numerous nieces and nephews; and his many friends and associates throughout the community. A Celebration of Doc's Life will be Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Nooksack Valley Assembly of God Church, at 904 Nooksack Ave. Please visit www.GoodStewardFunerals.org for details, and feel free to share your thoughts and memories on the online guestbook. Memorial contributions may be made in Doc's honor to Whatcom Hospice, 800 E. Chestnut, Bellingham, WA 98225. Good Steward Funerals - Lynden

My condolences to the family. I knew Lee spry. I am acquainted with Lee's two boys because they went to school at Lynden with my six children. Through out the years Doc Spry's name came to my attention in one way or another through conversations with his very appreciative customers. I had family members who called upon him at times of need.Prayers to the family.Nancy Perry
