John W. Spelgatti went peacefully to be with his Lord on Saturday, Oct 19th, 2016, at home, surrounded by family. John was born and raised in Potlatch, ID, the oldest of five siblings. He met the love of his life, Corlee, while they both worked for Northwest Airlines. They were married August 5, 1961. John was known for his musical talent. He was a member of several bands in his younger years and played a variety of instruments. He was always willing to lend a hand if someone was in need. He was a 50 year member of IUOE and was considered to the best blademan on the West Coast. He spent several years working on the Alaska Pipeline. He served his country in the Army Corp of Engineers from 1958-1961. John leaves behind his wife of 55 years; two daughters: Janine (Christopher) of Anchorage, AK and Denise (Mark) of Helena, MT; seven grandchildren: Alyssa Angelina, Brooklyn, Zachary, Bryan, Gloria and Nicole; and one great-grandchild. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of NCCHC, OptionCare and Whatcom Hospice. Memorial services to be held at Northlake Community Church in Bellingham on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 1 p.m.
