JoyAnna Singer of Kendall passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016. She was born June 14, 1936 in Phoenix, AZ, the third child of Hal and Doris (Gardner) Grammer. JoyAnna leaves her son, Andrew Huff; daughter, Karen Quigg; and two grandchildren, Duncan and Greta Huff. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jonell Blackmore, and is survived by her brother Gale Grammer. JoyAnna was a lifelong learner who loved nature and beauty. She received her BA in English from Arizona State University at the age of 63, and her MA in English from Western Washington University in 2002. As a young woman, she studied operatic singing. Throughout her life she was a writer and an accomplished needlework artist. In recent years she was transforming her homestead into a self-sustaining permaculture site, which she hoped would inspire others. A celebration of her life will be held at her home on Wed., Nov. 16, 2016. In lieu of flowers, if desired, please make donations in her name to the Peace Health Medical Foundation at:
