Kaye Adams Obituary

Kaye Adams, passed away on February 27th, 2011. He was born on February 23, 1924 in Bellingham to proud parents Pete and Vera. Growing up Kay had two sisters, Lois and Alva; Kaye went to Bellingham High School and at 17 he joined the Navy where he served for 5 years. Upon completing his service Kaye joined the City of Bellingham where he worked for over 30 years as an equipment operator and supervisor. During that time Kaye met his soul mate Katherine Pauline, in Bellingham, WA. They were married in Oceanview, WA on November 23, 1946. The happy couple raised three children in Bellingham; Terry, Dick and Mark. After retiring Kaye loved to hop into their fifth wheel with his love Katherine and head out to sunny spots to indulge himself in his love of hunting and fishing at his favorite spot in Conco-nully. He loved to dance with Katherine and enjoy his favorite team the Husky's. Kaye was a member of the VFW 1585, the Yacht Club, and the Elks. He will be missed by his wife Katherine, sons Terry, Dick, and Mark. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren are going to miss Grandpa playing Santa Claus: Missey, Buffey, Mark, Katie, Joe, Chris, Nate and Rachell. Graveside service will be held at Greenacres, Friday March 4th, 2011, at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whatcom Hospice. Dick and Mark, my deepest condolences and thank you for sharing your dad all those years of my youth in the old neighborhood. Your dad was the first person to take me fishing on the Skagit, camping on the East side with bears, fireworks shows at the cabin out at Lummi and forgiving me for the flying records in your front room !.. I have lots more great memories of your Dad and Mom that I will always cherish and hope to recall when we all get together in Heaven.

Grandpa, you will be missed. We love you and will never forget you. We had many great times with you.

My deepest sympathy on your loss. Just from the words of others, I can tell he is a great man to be missed. it isn't fair we are limited to the time we spend with our loved one. The good news is this burden upon us isn't going to last much longer. We have a Heavenly Father who is deeply grieved of the suffering we go threw and is making changes now. He has used his son Jesus to go about these changes on earth (1 Corinthians 15:20-22) We can receive everlasting joy from Bible truths for us and our loved ones. I hope this brings much joy to you.

March 2, 2011

one night many years ago in a neighborhood not so far away 3 young guys were standing under a street light, smoking a cigarette. Dick Adams,Joe Steenmeyer, and Jim Stilts, were passing the smoke around cause they couldnt afford to buy a pack. It was Joe's turn, and he was good at cupping the cigarette and putting it in his pocket when someone came around. At that moment Kaye Adams came out of his house and proceeded down to where we were. He stood with us talking for what he knew was just long enough. Then he said,( Joe, if you dont get that cigarette out of your pocket, you're going to have a fire in there.) About that very time Joe's pocket began to glow, then he pulled out the cigarette and started to jump around. I thought Kaye was going to fall on the ground laughing.
That my friends was Kaye Adams and we all loved him for it, and we ALL will miss him.
To Terry, Dick, and Mark, I am sorry for your loss, now hes up there keeping the guys on their toes that we lost in Vietnam.
