Leona Ruth Workentin of Birch Bay, WA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 18, 2013. She was born on April 29, 1923 in Taloga, Oklahoma. Leona moved to the Birch Bay area with her family as a teenager during the depression. It was here that she met her future husband, George Workentin at the age of 17. They were married April 7, 1946 in Everett, WA after George returned from the Second World War. Leona was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed a large garden each year, raising flowers, crocheting, trying out new recipes, and watching her family grow. Leona is survived by children, Rita Holland (Dan), David Workintin (Sharon), Helen Bode (Terry), Linda Bunker (Kent), and Larry Workentin; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents David and Elinda Koehn; husband George who passed away in 1994; and her brother Lee Roy Koehn. The family would like to thank Christian Health Care Center for their wonderful loving care our Mother received. Memorials may be to Bellingham Light House Mission. There will be a private family burial. You may leave thoughts and memories of Leona in the online guestbook at www.farewelltributes.com. Moles Farewell Tributes, Main St., Ferndale
