Mary Jo Lynch Truchan, a resident of Bellingham, WA, and formerly of Cary, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, WA. She was born May 19, 1947, in Joliet, IL. Mary Jo was a loving mother and grandmother to her three daughters, two granddaughters and one grandson. She is survived by her daughters and her son-in-law: Victoria Truchan, Lisa Truchan, Erin Truchan and her husband Rob Adams and her two granddaughters and one grandson, Emily and Maddie Young and Salvador Adams, all of Bellingham, WA. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Dan Lynch of Long Beach, CA; Bill (Gina) Lynch of Bellingham, WA; Patty (Don) Osmun of Crystal Lake, IL; and Jane (John) Howie of Crystal Lake, IL. In addition, she is survived by her former husband, Gregory Truchan, of Cary, IL, and many loving cousins and nieces and nephews. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Victoria and Joseph Lynch of Crystal Lake, IL and her brother-in-law, Thomas Truchan of Denver, CO. Mary Jo was born in Joliet, IL and later lived in Homewood, Dixon, Crystal Lake and Cary, IL. She graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1965 and married in 1968. She and her daughters later moved to Bellingham, WA. Mary Jo was a nurturing woman who always held a passion for the nursing field. She fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse in 1999. She was known and loved by her fellow nurses as a truly compassionate nurse. Mary Jo also had a love of animals, especially her two dogs, Isabella and Maggie. In addition, Mary Jo had a passion for reading, which was an enjoyable pastime all her life. Memorials (both in Bellingham, WA and Crystal Lake, IL) to celebrate Mary Jo's life will take place at a later date.
