Nelda Lautenbach went to heaven a day after her 70th birthday. Born January 14, 1946 to John and Dora VanderHaak in Lynden WA. She spent her career in the insurance industry taking care of many customers who were her friends. She loved watching sports; her boys, the grandkids, the Seahawks and her Final Four Pool every year. She always enjoyed her time with friends and family, playing cards, camping, visiting and laughing. ALS may have taken her body, but never touched her positive attitude and witty humor, which will be dearly missed. Others' needs were always put before hers. She is survived by sons Troy, Todd and Torrey (Julia) Lautenbach, brothers Ed (Twyla), John (Rose), Darryl (Judy) VanderHaak, sister in-law Doris VanderHaak, and 7 grandkids she adored. Preceded in death by her parents and oldest brother Richard. A celebration of her life will be held 2 o'clock Friday January 22 at Faith reformed church in Lynden. Donations can be made to the Evergreen ALS chapter or Hospice.
