Norman Staeber passed away peacefully on 8/1/16 at the age of 83 in Everett, WA. Norm was born to Albert and Hilda Staeber in 1933 in Lowell, WA where he grew up. After graduating Everett High School in 1951, he entered the Navy and served 4 years. He then attended Washington State University in Pullman and earned his Master's in Teaching Social Studies. He spent most of his career teaching History and English at Marysville Junior High. Norm retired at the age of 55 and built his home in the Glenhaven Lakes community near Bellingham, WA where he met the love of his life, Shirley. They married in 1990 and enjoyed 23 fun filled years together until her passing in 2013. He enjoyed many activities over his lifetime including watching the Apple Cup rooting for the Cougs, hiking, fishing, scuba diving, flying glider planes and traveling the world. He and Shirley particularly loved train travel. He is preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, one grandchild, and his wife. He is survived by his brother John Staeber, stepchildren Steve Jordan and Deanna Sabado (Jimmy), daughter-in-law Karen Rentko and grandchildren Heather, Kelly, Christina, Hannah, Jason and Amy and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
