Rodney passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital on June 30, 2016 at the young age of 44. He has left behind a family that loved him very much and he will be missed. Rod had a big heart and was always there for anyone, ready to help in any way he could. Rod led a very special life, walking to the beat of his own drum and doing things his own way. He enjoyed spending time with his family and making them laugh. He had a great passion for NASCAR, working on cars, cooking meals for his family, video games and baseball. Rodney is survived by his son Sean Messom, daughter Alyssa Messom, good friend and former wife Laura Messom. He is further survived by his mother Sandra (Peter) Merrill, sister Quinn (Alison) Soine, sister Connie (Jeff) Messom-Greenwell, aunt Denice Caillier, uncle David Caillier, cousin Ryan Caillier, cousin Danielle Caillier and uncle Rich Cranfill. Rodney was preceded in death by his father Harold Messom and grandma Dorothy Binschus. Rodney will be greatly missed by his friends and family. May he rest in peace, know how much he was loved and be blessed by God. Rodney's family gratefully acknowledges the kind condolences but ask for privacy at this time. A Celebration of Life will be privately held at a later date.
