Dear Bostwick family, I was sad to hear about Scott passing away. I didn't know him personally but I coached against him in 05 and 08 while I was at North Alabama. We called Scott "ole red hat," and we had the utmost respect for him and the entire NWM football program. He was the right choice and he would have done a great job there. Yall are in my prayers and thoughts. Romans 8:28

To Sue and family, Words fail me at a time like this. I had the privilege of working with Scott when he coached at Western Washington University. I can still hear that wonderful laugh - he was a man so full of life, and loved everyone of his athletes. He stayed in touch over the years and every time I talked to him, he never failed to mention how much he loved being a father and how happy he was to be at NW Missouri! Your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Bostwick Family,
I have many wonderful memories of our families (and many other families) through the Lil Vikes Football Organization. My dad was one of the coaches, my brothers both played and I was a cheerleader. There were many nights of hanging out during practices, games, family events and more. These were special times with special people and I can't tell you how sorry I am that you have lost Scott. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all the wonderful memories you share will help sustain you through the difficult days ahead.

Scott was one of my wrestlers when I was coaching at Omaha North. Over the years he and I would get together every time he was in Omaha recruiting. He was a good friend and great coach. He will be missed greatly here and at NWM.

June 8, 2011

We knew Scott at a very young age when we were all involved in the Lil Vikes Midget Football League. Scott was always a cheerful young man who loved getting to know the sport from the very beginning. We were shocked and saddened to hear of his death at such a young age when his life was so filled with promise.
Our hearts go out to June, Bob and the rest of his family along with his wife and children. We are not meant to lose our children, we expect to leave this earth before them so we do not experience the special pain of losing a child.
Our prayers go out to all of the family.

Sue & Family - I want you to know what an honor and privilage it was for me to grow up with Scott. Even when he was just a kid, you could tell he was something special. I still have our team photo from 1974 hanging in my garage, the year we were city champs. Please know you are in my prayers.

It always cracked me up how Scott could go from coaching 300 lb. tackles to little league kids. I am sure the language was different but you could tell that was what he was meant to do. Miss you man.

Prayers for the whole Bostwick family. I only knew Scott during his time at Kearney State College (1979-1980), but have followed his coaching career since his graduation from NWU. I was so looking forward to seeing him on the field as head coach going against the University of Nebraska at Kearney Lopers, who thought he was to small to play football for them. I have seen so many of my son's Lincoln Southwest teammates and other local players do so well at NW Mo. Scott will be missed so much this coming Fall.

Very sad news. I had looked forward to seeing Bostwick as the NW Mo St Head Coach go against the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). Bostwick had attended Kearney State College (1979-1980), but the Lopers thought he was to small to play for them. I knew Bostwick only that one school year, but had kept track of his coaching career since he graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan. I have watched many of my son's Lincoln Southwest teammates and other local players do well at NW Mo.
