Stanley Collins Obituary

Stanley G. Collins Jr. passed away on May 4, 2011 at the age of 56. He was born to Lorita Heath and Stanley George Collins Sr. in Jacobi Medical Center on March 7, 1955 in the Bronx, New York. Stan "The Man" as he liked to be called loved Bellingham and moved here over 35 years ago for the nurturing community and the beautiful environment after time in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier Bellawood. Stan loved life and approached everything in his life as an adventure. Stan loved classic rock and attended many concerts throughout his life. He loved to travel to exotic places and experience different cultures as well as capturing these experiences through photography. He was a gregarious and fun-loving personality and the epitome of his life was becoming a grandfather. He will be missed by many and rest assured Stan embraced his new adventure in heaven and joining his great ancestors. He is survived by his son Lloyd Sims; and daughter-in-law Christi; granddaughter Kayla Sage; brother Frederick; sister-in-law Reneé; niece LaShawn; and, nephew Frederick Jr. The Collins family hopes that you can join us for a memorial service to celebrate his life on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Moles Bayview Chapel, 2465 Lakeway Drive, Bellingham, WA 98229.
