Susan was born in Amityville New York to Roscoe and Helen Ostrander. She grew up in Cape Cod Massachusetts, and Norwalk Connecticut. She graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts , and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Sue moved to Bellingham Washington in 1973, and earned a masters degree in school counseling from Western Washington University. She worked as a school counselor in the Bellingham Public Schools from 1976-2004. She truly enjoyed the many students, families, and staff with whom she worked. Sue was an avid hiker, and hiked most of the local trails with her longtime hiking friends. She climbed Mount Baker three times, and hiked four times to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Sue loved music and singing along to her favorite songs. Sue is survived by her Husband Donald Jampsa who she loved so much, and her children Craig Bruntil and Rachel Jampsa. She is also survived by her brother Ron Ostrander, his wife Daphne Chu, her daughter in law Robin Bruntil, and her grand children Taylor and Emma, who she adored. Sue had a tremendous heart and always put the needs of others in front of her own. She helped many. Sue asked for no services. Her ashes will be spread in the Cascade Mountains she loved.
