Thomas Cooper Obituary

Tom Cooper, 49, of Bellingham, WA, passed away on April 26, 2011, after a long illness. He was born in Portland, OR, on April 28, 1961, to Urbana "Tiny" Muncell and Joseph Cooper. Tom was a painter by trade, but his passion was music. He began playing guitar at age 9 and spent his life playing, writing, and listening. Tom always said anyone could learn if they wanted to, and as a lefty, he learned to play by flipping the guitar upside down and backwards. He went for it any time older brother Don set it down. He was also an extremely talented photographer and fisher. Tom was a very kind and generous man who touched many lives both before and after his brain injury in 2007. He loved much. Tom is survived by his wife, Kelsey; daughters, Syndie and Kristina Johnson; 5 grandchildren; father, Joe; brothers, Don and Dave; sister, Cindy; and nephews, Christopher, Devon, and Zack. He will be so missed by us all. Our thanks and gratitude to the staff at North Cascades and most especially to Whatcom Hospice House. Please join us in a Celebration of Tom's Life on Saturday, April 30, at 1:00 PM at the American Legion, 1688 W. Bakerview, Bellingham. All though I have not seen Tommy in some years, the memory of his music plays on. Tommy always had a kind word to share, and I can never remember him being judgemental torward others. The Coopers should be very proud of their brother, father, and son. God Bless.

I was Tom and Kelsey's neighbor for awhile out on Grandview Road. I have fond memories of their kindness and hospitality. They always shared their laughter and music and more than once a great cup of coffee. I grieve with the family at this time, my heart goes out to all of you. He was a good neighbor and a good man and he is missed. (Alice-Usk, WA)

Lots of love, respect and admiration coming to you all for the way you stood at Tommy's bedside for the last 5 years. It is a such testament to the love and compassion of Tom. We know there is a Rock and Roll Heaven...He is not dead he just changed vibrational frequencies and joined another band of great musicians on the other side,..Tommy can you hear me ?..We will miss you...
