Virginia Blake Obituary

Virginia Mae Blake, age 81, passed away at the Hospice House in Bellingham, WA on Thursday, February 3, 2011. Ginna was born on March 19th, 1929 in Seattle, WA to Calvin and Frances (Cram) Brown. Living in Seattle most of her life, she moved to Birch Bay one year ago to be closer to family. She graduated from Hoquiam High School and worked many years as a bookkeeper. She and her husband Jack were avid Husky football fans, never missing a home game in the 70's & 80's and going to a few Rose Bowls. Ginna is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands John Blake and Joseph Krofta, her sister, Donna McClusky, and her son, Curtis Krofta. She is survived by her sister Betty Degerstrom of Seattle; and children Gary (Betsy) Krofta of Attleboro, MA, Vincent Krofta of Everett and Russell (Patti) Krofta of Birch Bay; as well as her five grandchildren, Alex, Ivy, Nigel, Joe, and Katie. She is also survived by step-children, John, Candance, Jeannine, Kelly, Cathy, Kevin, and Brian. Many thanks to the staff of Stafholt, St. Joseph Hospital, Hospice House, and Birch Bay Haircare for the compassion and care they have shown Ginna and her family over the past months. Virginia was laid to rest with her husband (Jack) of nearly 40 years at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA, followed by a celebration of her life with friends and family.
