BELLVILLE: Chester E. "Chet" Weaver, 83, of Bellville passed away Monday September 1, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness.
Chester was born December 2, 1930 the son of Delos and Eva (Miller) Weaver, and was graduated from Bellville High School.
For over 45 years, Chet owned and operated F&W Towing located in Bellville. He served as a former member of the Board of Directors of the Towing and Recovery Association of Ohio.
Chet loved traveling, having visited 49 of the 50 states as well as most of Canada. Compassionate he loved his dog Chance. Every October, Chet enjoyed taking his family to the towing rodeo held in northern Cincinnati. A great story teller, Chet loved reminiscing on old towing experiences and going to towing shows.
He was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Chet is survived by his wife Judy (Blum) Weaver of Bellville; son Terry Weaver of Mansfield and daughter Kathy (Jerry) Layton of Mansfield; step sons John (Beth) Watts of Mansfield and Steve (Tina) Watts of Bellville; son-in-law Dave Secrist of Bellville; grandchildren Ben Layton and his significant other Heather Thompson, Erica Layton and her significant other Jason Carpenter, Bridget and Mike Meier, Jeremy (Amy) Secrist, David Secrist; step grandchildren Dakota, Brittany, and Connor Watts; 14 great grandchildren; sister Betty Moyer; brother-in-law Wayne Fisher; special friend, Virgil Mullins and a large circle of close friends.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Sharyle Secrist, great grandson Trevin Layton and sister, Evadine Fisher.
The family received friends on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services were held Friday at 11 am. The Rev. Dr. Johnny Heckard officiated and the burial followed in Bellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Jefferson Township-Bellville Rescue Squad or the organization of the donor's choice may be made through the funeral home.
