Mary Elizabeth Garber Eichof passed away peacefully on April 7 in Denver CO at the age of 80.
Marybeth is survived by her husband Charles "Dick" Eichof; daughter Kara (Brian) Miller; Grandsons Max and Nick Miller all of Denver; Sister Lou Smith Columbus and Brother Fred Garber Mansfield.
Marybeth was born on May 13,1935 in Mansfield to Max Fredrick Garber and Mary Elizabeth Bowers Garber. She grew up in Bellville , graduated from Bellville High School in 1953 and went on to Heidelberg College in Tiffin where she graduated in 1957 with a degree in Elementary Education .From 1957 until 1960 she taught second grade at James Road School in Columbus. In 1960 she married her high school sweetheart Dick Eichof and they moved to Des Plains IL where she taught 2nd grade in the Park Ridge school system until her daughter was born in 1963. The next 53 years she spent in Galion, Pickerington, OH, Cave creek AZ and Denver, CO being a dedicated wife , mother and teaching preschool. Her daughter remembers her as a gentle and kind mother who devoted herself to encourage her to be a good person and pursue her goals. Her absolute joy was being with her two grandsons Max and Nick. She also loved her travels throughout Europe visiting Art Museums . An active member of Pinnacle Presbyterian church Scottsdale AZ. She will best be remembered for her genuine smile and her love for her family.
Services for Marybeth will be held on Friday June 10,2016 at 11:00 in the Bellville Presbyterian Church, burial will follow in the Bellville Cemetery.
A celebration of Marybeth's life will take place at the Deer Creek Golf Course following the burial.
