Viola Jones Travis 1920 - 2008 NORTH PETERSBURGH, N.Y. Viola Alice Jones Travis, 87, of Route 22 died Tuesday evening at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. Born in Petersburgh, on Aug. 2, 1920, Viola was the daughter of William and Ada Church Jones. Educated in a one-room schoolhouse that is now the Methodist Church in North Petersburgh, Viola worked for the Hoosick Falls Undergarment Co., W.J. Cowee, Co., Inc. in Berlin and retired in 1981 from Barclay Products in Hoosick Falls. She was a member of the N. Petersburgh Methodist Church. She was the loving wife of William R. Travis, whom she married Oct. 10, 1936 in the Baptist Church Parsonage, died Nov. 2, 2002. She leaves her children, David Travis of Old Chatham, Gloria Teal of N. Petersburgh, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Saturday, April 5, at 4 p.m. in the THOMAS M. BARBER FUNERAL HOME, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, where the Rev. Philip Garippa will officiate. Private interment will take place in Meadowlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home on Saturday, starting at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the N. Petersburgh Methodist Church.
