John M. "Jack" Cross BENNINGTON On July 4, 1929, John Miles "Jack" Cross, came into this world as the son of Olin Cross Jr. and Ruth Lane Cross. Jack and Millicent were very devoted to each other. Jack also enjoyed times spent with his sons in laws, Paul Bouton and Scott Bishop, and his long time and good friend Jimmy Ripa of South Hadley Falls, MA. He had a lot of friends and truly enjoyed helping people. Jack could walk into a room full of strangers and come out with a room full of friends. He was pretty much a person that liked and trusted everyone. Jack enjoyed talking to people and never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Jack was able to travel from the mouth of the St. Lawrence Sea Way to Key West, Florida, where he was able to quail hunt. He also had the opportunity to travel several times to Montana to hunt for Elk and Mule Deer. Every fall for 50 years, he hunted in Norton, VT where he could see his friends and an occasional white tail deer.
