Carrie M. Squires(1909-2014)

Carrie M. Squires, 104, a lifelong resident of Squires Road in Manchester, Vermont passed away Sunday February 16, 2014 at The Equinox Terrace.
Carrie was born in South Dorset, Vermont on December 28, 1909 the daughter of Henry W. and Jessie (Dunbar) Stannard. She received her education in South Dorset, attending the South Dorset Grammar School. Carrie worked as a domestic housekeeper for many area homes and businesses for over thirty years, ran the Manchester Landfill and worked her farm for many, many years. On her farm she raised and sold her tomato and geranium plants and also sold her chicken eggs. She loved animals, adored her house cats, enjoyed country western music, especially Randy Travis and cherished times spent with all of her family.
Carrie is survived by her sister Susan Fleming of Manchester Center, grandchildren Tom Ouellette and his significant other Linda Sargent, Susan Beauregard, Mike Beauregard, Linda Crawford and her husband Ted, Ronnie Waite and his significant other JoAnn Bruce and Terry Hirsch and her husband Jeff, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Squires whom she married April 22, 1926. Mr. Squires died in 1970. She was also preceded in death by her daughters Helen (Skippy) Belle Moore who died July 16, 1995 and Mary Ann Beauregard who died in December, 2000, her sisters Mabel Stannard, Ada Jones, Alice Mulberry and Sarah Mylott, and her brother Henry C. (Budgie) Stannard.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of the life of Carrie M. Squires, will be held Friday February 21, 2014 at 7pm at Brewster & Shea Funeral Service 34 Park Place Manchester Center, Vermont. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday February 21, 2014 from 5-7pm, 2 hours prior to the service. Interment will be in the spring in the family lot in Factory Point Cemetery in Manchester Center.
